Change in any organization is inevitable. There are many types of changes that may arise from small to large. Organizational changes can include hardware and software, moving location, structural or process changes to name a few. IT change management is key in these times to limit disruption and maximize processes at a time of change.
It is widely understood that an organization’s ability to manage change effectively is one of the most important survival factors in the new economy. As more and more organizations are relying on IT departments to maintain their competitive advantage and to support strategic initiatives. Therefore, having a formal IT change management process and system becomes imperative.
Some of the downfalls of a poorly run IT Change Management are:
Resistance from employees
Poor project results
Decrease of productivity
Low quality of work
Impact on customers
Loss of investment
It is important for an organization to be ever changing and not stagnant. In order to thrive in change, and organization must have a proper IT change Management system solution in place to help the business and employees adapt ensuring the day to day success of a business.
Caprivi’s Change Management solution is fully configurable, completely open, extendable and supported.
New Change Requests are routed to the Change Coordinator for an initial assessment. If accepted, the request is routed to the Perform Impact Assessment Activity. At this stage, a shared collaboration site for the particular change request is created and processes initiate to perform the Impact and Risk Assessment tasks. After the Change Advisory board approves the request, meeting requests are sent to assess resource availability. If available, the RFC Calendar is updated and Develop and Test Change tasks sent out. Upon completion, the Change Management Request form, with all comments, approvals and supporting documentation is stored out for later knowledge reuse.
Benefits of a Caprivi Change Management Solution are:
Increase success of change while decreasing cost and stress.
Electronic Change Request Forms ensures data does not need to be recaptured
Centralized task management with notifications and multilevel escalations to manage SLA’s
Automatically check resource availability and schedule updates to the RFC Outlook calendar
